Expenditure arising from vandalism cost Newport City Council £189,898.85 during 2006/07 with £159,152.12 of these costs arising from vandalism of schools. It has been highlighted that the cost of repairs following vandalism are a significant drain on the Council’s Budgets as well as staff time and other resources.
