Police in Pill are appealing for information to an attempted armed robbery at Gwent Racing, Alexandra Road in Pill. The incident occurred at approximately 6.30pm on Monday April 7, 2008. Three men entered the shop and walked behind the counter. They are described as black, approximately five feet ten inches tall, of a slim build and between 17 and 25 years old. They were all wearing dark clothing with their hoods pulled up over their faces. The Bookmaker was not physically threatened by the men but felt threatened enough to push his panic button. One of them appeared to be carrying a large iron bar and a large kitchen knife was found on the shop floor after they left. They walked off in the direction of Commercial Road.
