Newport City Council has held its first meeting since the recent elections. The Council's Annual General Meeting included a valedictory address from outgoing mayor Councillor Allan Morris. He was replaced as chair of the Council on an interim basis by Councillor Les Knight. A new mayor will be appointed on June 24.
